(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 23:47 Want To Be Healthier? Give Thanks EVERY Day

What if EVERY day was Thanksgiving?

Not for the turkey, dressing and sweet potato pie.

Instead, what if we took time each day to give thanks for all that we had?

That is, what if, on a daily basis, we practiced having “an attitude of gratitude?”

Would we all be healthier?

Of course, we would.

We’d sleep better… fight off colds better… digest our foods better… and feel better!

On this episode we talk about the powerful impact of “giving thanks.”

Specifically, we discuss simple ways to incorporate an “attitude of gratitude” into our daily lives.

Give this episode a good listen.

Actually, THANK YOU for giving this episode a good listen.

And, thank you for sharing it with a friend.

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) talk about a natural approach for balancing hormones.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 23:46 A Natural Approach For Balancing Hormones

Symptoms are messages from your body that something is wrong.

That something is “off.”

The key to healing, TRUE healing, is to identify and correct whatever is CAUSING the symptoms.

To identify and correct whatever is “off.”

We talked about the importance of symptoms… and natural ways to correct them… in the past two episodes of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast.

In this episode we take the lessons of the past two episodes and apply them to a person suffering with the symptoms of a Hormone Imbalance.

Specifically, we address…

1) What CAUSES a Hormone Imbalance.

2) What can be done, naturally, to CORRECT it.

Give this episode a good listen as it will help change the way you look at Hormone Imbalances... AND it will give you suggestions for correcting them.

Also, be sure to share this episode with a friend.

Thanks!

Episode 23:45 How To Heal Your Body Naturally

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) talk about seven natural ways to heal your body.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 23:45 How To Heal Your Body Naturally

Please answer the following Yes/No questions.

Thanks!

- Is your blood pressure high?

- Is your bodyweight higher than it should be?

- Is your A1C (blood sugar) level high (above 5.6)?

- Do you often go a whole day without having a bowel movement?

- Does your stomach often feel bloated?

- Do you need caffeine to “get going?”

- Does your back, or any other part of your body, ache?

Answering YES to any of the above questions means that your body is trying to send you a message.

Specifically, it’s trying to tell you that something is wrong and needs to be addressed.

But what?

What could be going wrong and how do you correct it?

Those are great questions.

Questions we answer on this week’s episode.

Give this episode a good listen and then share it with a friend.

Thanks!

Episode 23:44 Seven Messages Your Body Is Sending You Regarding Your Health

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) talk about seven messages your body is constantly sending you regarding your health.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 23:44 Seven Messages Your Body Is Constantly Sending You Regarding Your Health

We live in a hi-tech world.

A world filled with gadgets and gizmos… all created to make life easier and better.

This is especially true with regard to health care.

Technological advances have given us diagnostic and treatment tools that were only dreamed about in the past.

However, despite all of the “new and improved” tools doctors have at their disposal the truth is that most people’s health is getting worse, not better.

For this reason, perhaps it’s time that we, as a nation, made a change… a change that involves going back to some basic fundamentals.

Specifically, when it comes to our health, we should start relying more on the messages our bodies are telling us than on the feedback we get from expensive, hi-tech machines.

In this episode we discuss seven "old school" messages our bodies are constantly telling us.

- Messages about our heath.

- Messages that are extremely inexpensive and easy to understand.

- Messages that warn us when something is wrong.

Get each of these messages “right” and you will almost certainly be healthy.

Get any of these messages “wrong” and your health will be heading towards a downwards spiral.

It’s that simple.

Give this episode a good listen and LEARN THE SEVEN MESSAGES as they will give you a tremendous insight into your current, and future, health status.

And, as always, be sure to recommend this episode to a friend.

Thanks!

Episode 23:43 The Interesting Role Vitamin D Plays In Low Testosterone Levels, Infertility, Osteoporosis, Restless Leg Syndrome, Itchy Skin, Hives, And Canker Sores

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) talk about the interesting role Vitamin D plays in low testosterone levels, infertility, osteoporosis, restless leg syndrome, itchy skin, hives, and canker sores.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 23:43 The Interesting Role Vitamin D Plays In Low Testosterone Levels, Infertility, Osteoporosis, Restless Leg Syndrome, Itchy Skin, Hives, And Canker Sores

On the last episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we talked about the role sunshine and Vitamin D play in helping you look better, feel better, lower your cholesterol levels and boost your immunity.

On this episode we take that conversation a step further.

Specifically we discuss how increasing Vitamin D levels can improve fertility in women… and testosterone levels in men.

We also share how Vitamin D works with other vitamins and minerals… most notably Vitamin F (yes, there IS a vitamin F, it’s just not recognized by the FDA) and Calcium.

We then explain how imbalances among Vitamin D, Vitamin F and Calcium levels can result in conditions as diverse as osteoporosis, “leathery” skin, extreme itching, hives, welts, canker sores, and restless legs.

The physiology behind the interplay of these nutrients is fascinating and easy to understand.

Give this episode a good listen and you’ll know what to do to prevent and/or treat those conditions.

As always, please recommend this episode to a friend.

Thanks!

Episode 23:41 Natural Alternatives For The 10 Most Prescribed Drugs: Part 2

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) continue our discussion regarding natural alternatives for the 10 most widely prescribed drugs in America.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 23:41 Natural Alternatives For The 10 Most Prescribed Drugs: Part 2

The following are the ten most prescribed drugs in the United States:

Lipitor

Lisinopril

Albuterol

Synthroid

Norvasc

Gabapentin

Prilosec

Metformin

Amoxicillin

Prednisone

While the use of prescription drugs certainly has its place, NONE of the drugs listed above do anything to correct the underlying CAUSE.

Not only that, ALL of these drugs have side-effects… some quite dangerous.

There HAS TO be a better way.

Fortunately, there IS.

A safer, more natural alternative to drugs.

On the last episode we discussed natural alternatives to three of the drugs on the list (Lipitor, Lisinopril and Norvasc).

On this episode we address natural alternatives for the remaining seven.

Please give it a good listen and then share it with a friend.

Thanks!

Episode 23:40 Natural Alternatives For The 10 Most Prescribed Drugs

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss natural alternatives for the 10 most widely prescribed drugs in America.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 23:40 Natural Alternatives For The 10 Most Prescribed Drugs

There are 330 million people living in the United States.

That’s a lot.

However, that number (330,000,000) pales in comparison to the number of prescription drugs filled each year in the United States.

It’s 4.83 Billion.

Yes, that’s Billion with a B.

4,830,000,000

4.83 Billion prescriptions filled for 330 million people.

Do the math and you’ll see that translates to over 14 prescriptions filled each year for EVERY person in the United States… including children, teens, and young adults.

That’s NOT good!

Interestingly, most people, when given a choice, would rather not take a drug.

They’d rather deal with their health issues in a natural manner.

On this episode we share HOW to do just that.

Specifically, we look at the 10 most widely prescribed drugs in the US and then offer natural alternatives.

Give this episode a good listen and then share it with a friend.

Thanks!

Episode 23:39 Two Powerful Influences On Your Health: Morning Sun and WHEN You Eat

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss the impact that morning sunlight AND “when” you eat have on your health.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 23:39 Two Powerful Influences On Your Health: Morning Sun and WHEN You Eat

Did you know that your body has an internal “clock” that helps it control all of its functions?

Actually, that’s not true.

Your body doesn’t have ONE internal “clock” that helps it control all of its functions…

It has two!

Hormone production, neurotransmitter production, insulin production, digestive enzyme production, muscle strength, hair growth, skin rejuvenation, and sex drive… ALL are controlled, in part, by your body’s TWO internal “clocks.”

Get these clocks working right and your health will improve.

Get these clocks out of sync and your health will deteriorate.

It’s that simple.

On this episode we discuss each of these clocks and the role they play in keeping your body functionally optimally.

We also discuss the factors that keep these clocks "on time."

Specifically, we discuss the very important and powerful impact of...

1) Early morning sunlight.

2) WHEN you eat.

This a fascinating episode filled with great information on how to live in harmony with God's design for your body.

Give it a good listen and then please share it with a friend.

Thanks!
