Episode 21:45 – What To Say When Asked About Your Vaccine Status

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss how you should respond when someone asks you about your vaccine status.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:45 What To Say When Asked About Your Vaccine Status

Like millions of others, you may not feel comfortable answering questions regarding your vaccine status.

To begin with, YOUR personal health choices are really none of anyone’s business.

Not to mention, the person asking oftentimes isn’t coming from a place of concern… they’re just looking to stir up controversy.

If you can relate, don’t worry.

On this episode we share with you HOW to respond when asked about your vaccine status.

Specifically, we teach you how to “turn the tables” by asking three questions of your own.

Warning!

These three questions are designed to get a person to THINK so they might not be applicable in all situations 🙂

Also, to be fully transparent, this episode is aimed at helping the person who believes getting a vaccine should be a personal choice.

However, our discussion regarding the three questions is information that EVERYONE, regardless of vaccination status, should know as it sheds light on many aspects of this current pandemic.

Give this episode a good listen and, when you’re done, share it with a friend… and then be ready for a conversation.

Thanks!

Episode 21:44 – Fiber… Insulin Resistance… and How To Lose 100 Pounds Without Dieting

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) sit down once again with “Coach” Sam Shelton to discuss the importance of fiber… the dangers associated with Insulin Resistance… and how his Mom lost 100lbs without going on a diet!

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:44   Fiber… Insulin Resistance… and How To Lose 100lbs Without Dieting

Two weeks ago we had Coach Sam Shelton on for an episode about nutrition.

The response was overwhelming!

People loved his “no-nonsense” approach to health and eating right.

They also loved that he wasn’t “selling” anything… just sharing some of the incredible knowledge he has gained after spending hour upon hour studying health and nutrition.

Today, Coach is back to share more.

Specifically, he talks to us about:

1) The importance of fiber (and why he eats over 100 grams of it per day!)

2) The dangers associated with Insulin Resistance (it is involved with EVERY major disease).

3) How his Mom lost over 100 lbs THIS year.

Fiber. Insulin Resistance. Weight Loss.

These are the KEYS to living a happy and healthy life.

And, they are explained beautifully on this episode.

Enjoy!

Episode 21:43 – If You Live In Alabama, You Need To Know About This

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) sit down with Stephanie Durnin of Health Freedom Alabama to discuss something of extreme importance to every citizen of Alabama: HB31 - The Alabama Health Freedom Act

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:43 If You Live In Alabama, You Need To Know About This

Joe is a good, hard-working man in excellent health.

He loves his job and has performed it faithfully for over 10 years.

Joe gets along well with all of co-workers and his supervisor consistently gives his work performance high grades.

Unfortunately, in a few days (Wednesday October 27, 2021) Joe will no longer be able to work at his current job.

NOT because he doesn’t want to.

NOT because his work performance has suffered.

NOT because his supervisor and co-workers want to get rid of him.

NOT because his company is experiencing financial difficulties.

Instead, Joe will no longer be able to work at his job because he has chosen NOT to get the Covid vaccine.

In addition, he will no longer be able to support his wife and children, nor provide them with health insurance, because of a decision he should have every right to make.

Let me say that again:

Joe - a hard working, healthy man - will no longer be able to work at the job he has performed flawlessly for over ten years simply because he has chosen NOT to get the Covid vaccine.

That’s ridiculous... but true.

You see, Joe works at Austal, a ship building company located in Mobile, Alabama.

And, since Austal has contracts to do work for the Federal Government, they are being mandated to have all of their workers vaccinated.

This Federal mandate is not only an overreach of authority, it wrongfully punishes innocent people like Joe.

For example, Joe, like millions of other Americans, has had COVID and, therefore, ALREADY HAS what the vaccine can only hope to provide: immunity against the Coronavirus.

But the Federal Government doesn’t care.

They want to force Joe, and millions of other Americans like him, to get the COVID vaccine AGAINST THEIR WILL.

It is, in my opinion, a form of tyranny.

Fortunately, there are groups of individuals throughout the country fighting back.

People defending the rights of Americans to choose what they feel is best for their health.

One such group is Health Freedom Alabama.

Health Freedom Alabama is made up of individuals who are standing up for the rights of ALL Alabamians with regard to medical freedom.

To this end, they have put together a bill, HB31, that fights back against vaccine mandates.

A bill designed to protect hard-working individuals like Joe from being unfairly discriminated against.

On this week's episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we sit down with Stephanie Durnin, the co-founder of Health Freedom Alabama and have her explain to us what HB31 is… how it came about… WHY it is so important… and what WE can do, as citizens, to help make it a law.

She is a wealth of knowledge so PLEASE give this episode a good listen and, when you’re done, be sure to take action!

In addition, please SHARE this episode with everyone you know who calls the great state of Alabama “home.”

Episode 21:42 – How To Look Good, Feel Good, And Perform Your Best At Any Age: An Interview With 50 Year Old Sam Shelton

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) sit down with “Coach” Sam Shelton for some tips on how to look your best, feel your best, and perform your best… at any age!

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:42 How To Look Good, Feel Good, And Perform Your Best At Any Age: An Interview With 50 Year Old Sam Shelton

I (Dr. George Burroughs) have known “Coach” Sam Shelton - pictured above with his beautiful daughter Sloane - for many years.

And, for as long as I’ve known him, he’s always been in good shape.

However, when I recently saw him, I immediately knew something was different.

He looked better than ever.

Healthier, happier, leaner.

I was shocked… in a good way.

You see, as I said earlier, Sam had always been in good shape.

However, standing before me was a man who had obviously taken his health to a new level.

Needless to say, I wanted to know his secret.

I wanted to know what he had been doing… or what he had been taking… to get his body, at age 50, in the best shape of his life.

(Yes, this guy is 50 years old.)

On this episode “Coach” Sam Shelton sits down with us and shares what he’s learned… and what he’s done… over the past 19 months to take his health to a whole new level.

You’re going to love what you hear!

Episode 21:41 – The Number One Nutritional Problem In America Today

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss the number one nutritional problem in America today: Sugar!

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:41 The Number One Nutritional Problem In America Today

Americans, as a whole, eat far too much “junk” food.

Food that has little to no nutritional value… and contributes to a number of chronic diseases.

However, of all the “junk” food that people ingest, none is worse - or more popular - than sugar.

On this episode we take a good look at sugar:

What it is, where it comes from, why it is so damaging, and how it became so popular.

We also discuss:

- The two most common types of sugar.

- The important differences between sucrose (table sugar) and high fructose corn syrup.

- How several of the major chronic diseases that plague our country can be traced back to too much sugar.

- A simple blood test to measure the impact of fructose on the body.

- Why you shouldn’t eat fruit in the winter.

Give this episode a good listen as it is vitally important to learn the “not so sweet” truth about one of America’s favorite nutrients.

Episode 21:40 – What’s Wrong With This Picture?

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss four changes in American culture over the past 50 years that have had a dramatically NEGATIVE impact on children’s health.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:40 What’s Wrong With This Picture?

Do me a favor and take a look at the picture that accompanies this episode.

It’s a picture of my (Dr. George Burroughs) first grade class from approximately 50 years ago.

Notice how many students there are:

Forty-five.

Then notice how many teachers there are:

One.

Yes, one teacher, Mrs. Manco, with 45 first graders (I’m the handsome kid standing right in front of her.)

Now, answer me this question:

What’s wrong with this picture?

The answer, of course, is NOTHING.

Nothing is wrong with this picture.

What’s WRONG is the health of today’s children.

Let me explain:

Having 45 students in a first grade class with just one teacher would be unheard of today.

Fifty years ago it was normal.

Today, those 45 students would be split up into two… possible three classes.

Here’s another thing:

If for some reason there WAS a class of 45 first graders today, there certainly would be a “teachers aide” assigned to help the teacher.

Not back then.

Nor were there any “special ed” classes or teachers.

Heck, we didn’t even have a school nurse… despite having nearly 700 students at the school.

And, with the exception of possibly one student who may have had asthma (I’m not sure), no one in my class required a daily medication of any kind.

To repeat: 45 kids in a first grade class with just one teacher… and we had NO problems.

On top of that we were extremely healthy, well behaved, and intelligent.

However, please don’t think I’m bragging on myself or my classmates.

I’m not.

You see, most classrooms were similar to this back then.

It’s true.

Fifty years ago it was common to see large classrooms filled with healthy kids all fully capable of learning.

Not today.

Today it would be considered criminal to fill a first grade classroom with 45 kids and only one teacher.

Why?

Because kids today aren’t nearly as healthy as they were fifty years ago and, for many of them, learning is a challenge.

For this reason nurses and special education services are a necessity in schools today.

To be clear, I am NOT bringing all of this up to belittle the students of today.

Instead, I'm bringing it up so that we can ask a very important question:

WHAT HAS HAPPENED???

That is, what has happened in the past 50 years that has resulted in today’s children being less healthy and less able to be educated in a typical classroom setting?

On this episode we explore four specific changes in American culture have had a tremendous NEGATIVE impact on the physical and mental health of our society… especially our children.

More importantly, we explore what can be done to correct it.

Please give this a good listen and then share it with anyone you know that has kids… or cares about kids.

Thanks!

Episode 21:39 – The 3 Supplements Everyone Needs

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss the only 3 supplements we believe everyone needs.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:39 The Only 3 Supplements Everyone Needs

When it comes to nutritional supplements, most people know they need them.

That is, most people know that the Standard American Diet (which is abbreviated SAD) doesn’t provide them with enough of the nutrients they need… the nutrients their body requires to function optimally.

The problem is that most people don’t know WHICH supplements they need… WHICH supplements will actually help them strengthen their body and build their health.

To add to the confusion, misinformation about supplements abounds.

For example, people will often read about a supplement - or hear about it on a podcast or TV show - and become convinced they need it.

They will then go out and buy it… only to discover that it doesn’t live up to its hype.

As a result, the supplement ends up being place in a cabinet alongside a collection of many other “sounded good at the time” supplements.

If this sounds familiar, then we’ve got good news:

On this episode we help get rid of some of the confusion.

Specifically, we discuss the three supplements we believe everyone needs and would benefit from.

Three supplements that will provide your body with an abundance of nutrients, thereby eliminating the need for many other supplements..

What are these supplements?

1) A Multi-Vitamin
2) A Multi-Mineral
3) An Essential Fatty Acid

Taking these three supplements - or should I say taking the RIGHT type of each of these three supplements - will go a long way towards meeting the BASIC nutritional needs of your body.

So, how do you know if you’re taking the RIGHT type of each of these three supplements?

That’s a great question!

It’s also one we answer on this episode.

Give this one a good listen as the information can go along way towards improving your health.

And, when you’re done, please share this episode with a friend.

Thanks!

Episode 21:38 – Ten Lessons Learned About COVID, And People, After Driving 3,000 Miles

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast Dr. George Burroughs shares with BetyLou Pierce ten lessons he learned about COVID, and people, after going on a 3,000 mile road trip

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:38  -  Ten Lessons Learned About COVID, And People, After Driving 3,000 Miles

If you are a regular listener to this podcast, you know that I, Dr. George Burroughs, grew up in New York City and still have family in the area… most notably my Mom.

Typically, I try to get up there twice per year to visit but haven’t been able to since BEFORE this pandemic began in early 2020.

That changed last week.

I decided to take some time off from work so I could visit my Mom.

I also decided that I was going to DRIVE (from Alabama) instead of fly.

Needless to say, the trip was long but it was also quite rewarding as I learned a lot about people, places and things.

Most of what I learned was extremely “positive”, which, to be honest, surprised me.

Of course, there were some “negative” lessons as well.

Overall, I came up with TEN lessons… lessons that I wanted to share with you:

1) Connecting dots
2) The road less travelled
3) Opportunity knocks
4) Cities have personalities
5) Never forget
6) Silver and Gold
7) Nightmares
8) “You Better Stop”
9) My prediction
10) Finding your new home

Each lesson is short and, if you listen to all ten, I’m sure you’ll find several of them to be quite interesting.

Give this episode a good listen as there is truly “something for everyone.”

Then, please be kind enough to share it with a friend.

Episode 21:37 – It Has Never Been About The Virus

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) look at two very important questions regarding the origin of the Coronavirus and the treatment of COVID.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:37 It Has Never Been About The Virus

What if this current pandemic is actually more of a PLANdemic?

That is, what if all that we have been going through has had more to do with a plan to implement a vaccine... and less with treating a virus?

In other words, what if this pandemic is NOT about the Coronavirus?

What if it’s NOT about COVID?

What if it’s NOT about your health?

What if it’s a PLANdemic?

What if it’s about getting people to receive a mRNA vaccine?

Yes, we know that sounds crazy.

But is it?

What if we’re right?

What if, all along, the PLAN has been to get this vaccine into as many Americans as possible?

HOW would they implement such a plan?

THAT is what we talk about on this episode.

Specifically, we discuss the three step plan we believe has been set in motion to get as many people as possible to receive the vaccine.

We trust you'll find this information incredibly interesting 🙂

Episode 21:36 – Two Questions: “Was The Coronavirus Engineered In A Lab?” — “Are Hospitals Properly Treating COVID?”

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) look at two very important questions regarding the origin of the Coronavirus and the treatment of COVID.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:36 Two Questions: “Was The Coronavirus Engineered In A Lab?” - - “Are Hospitals Properly Treating COVID?”

From Day One, there have been a lot of people questioning whether this Coronavirus was something that had developed naturally… or was somehow engineered in a lab?

Unfortunately, there was no way to know. Until now.

Information has surfaced in recent months that make it pretty clear that this Coronavirus was altered and engineered in a lab in Wuhan, China.

Specifically, there was something called “Gain-Of-Function” research being done that may have made this Coronavirus more lethal and contagious than it should have been.

To make matters worse, this “research” appears to be funded by OUR taxpayers money.

So, why haven’t we been told about this?

Great question!

One we address - along with all you need to know about Gain-Of-Function research - on this episode.

We also address another pressing question:

“Are Hospitals Properly Treating COVID?”

The short answer is “NO.”

At least not in our eyes.

It seems that treatment protocols that do NOT work well are being promoted while proven treatments are being ignored… and censured.

Why???

We take a long, hard look at how poorly the medical profession has done during this pandemic… and why.

Give this episode a good listen as it is both timely and important.
Then please be kind enough to share it with a friend 🙂
