(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 22:16 Anedra Brown’s Secret For Losing 150lbs!!!

Two years ago if someone told Anedra Brown that she would become a fitness instructor AND that she would use her platform to organize a fundraiser in her community she would have told them they were crazy!

You see, back then Anedra lived with chronic pain… and chronic fatigue.

Simple activities such as walking around the house hurt.

In addition, she was always exhausted… even after getting eight hours of sleep.

To make matters worse, her emotions were a mess… causing her to burst into tears for no apparent reason.

All in all, she wasn’t in a good place.

Then, something changed.

She found help in a program.

NOT a weight loss program but a “Get Healthy” program.

A program she committed to stick to (and still follows today).

A program that has helped her lose over 150lbs!

More importantly, it's a program that has helped her regain the health she thought she had lost forever.

A program built around these five simple strategies:

1) Eliminate food sensitivities

2) Take three core supplements

3) Exercise

4) Overcome emotional “blocks”

5) Educate yourself

----------

Now, regarding Anedra’s "secret":

There is no secret!

No drugs.

No surgeries.

No pills, potions, or meal replacements.

Just a solid commitment to implementing the strategies above.

Strategies that have been proven to improve a person's health.

(Losing a bunch of weight along the way is a just a wonderful “side-effect.")

Listen to her story.

It will inspire you… and educate you!

Then share it with a friend.

Thanks!

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 22:14 How To Say “No” To Neck, Back… And Gallbladder Surgery

Each year there are approximately 50 million surgeries performed in the United States.

Some, of course, are necessary.

Others are not.

The question becomes, “How do you know?”

That is, HOW do you know if a surgery that has been recommended for you is actually necessary?

On this week’s episode we look at three individuals who asked themselves that same question.

Three individuals who looked, and FOUND, natural solutions for their arm pain, leg pain, and gallbladder problems.

In addition, we discuss the ONE dietary change that caused a young man's chronic knee pain to virtually disappear.

(It will shock you!)

Give this episode a good listen and then share it with a friend.

Thanks!

Episode 22:12 – Kept Out Of Reach: The REAL Tragedy Of The Past Two Years

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss the REAL tragedy of the past two years.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 22:12 Withholding Effective Treatments: The REAL Tragedy Of The Past Two Years

When looking back on the events of the past two years, three questions come to mind:

1) Was the Coronavirus created in a lab and intentionally released?

2) Is the vaccine safe and effective?

3) Were effective treatments for Covid-19 withheld?

While we certainly can debate the first two points concerning the origin of the virus and the effectiveness of the vaccine, that is NOT what we focus on in this episode.

Instead, we take a look at the the third point:

Were effective treatments for Covid-19 withheld?

For this question we believe there is no argument.

In our opinion, effective treatments for Covid-19 - although available - WERE withheld.

Intentionally “kept out of reach.”

It began in 2020 when government health officials used FALSE and inappropriate data to shut down the use of the drug Hydroxychloroquine… AFTER it was being used effectively to treat Covid-19 by doctors throughout the world.

Then, in 2021, these same officials flexed their political muscles to prevent Ivermectin from being used… despite it being shown to be a “miracle drug” in numerous studies.

As a result of these effective treatments being available, but KEPT OUT OF REACH, millions of people may have died unnecessarily.

It’s sickening.

Listen to this episode to hear the TRUTH behind what has happened the past two years.

It will NOT make you happy.

It will, however, make you informed.

Episode 22:11 – Fructose, Uric Acid… and Why People Get Fat – An Interview With Coach Sam Shelton

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) once again sit down with our good friend Coach Sam Shelton to discuss fructose, uric acid… and why people get fat.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 22:11 Fructose, Uric Acid… and Why People Get Fat - An Interview With Coach Sam Shelton

On this week’s episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we continue our conversation with Coach Sam Shelton about the important role food plays in our health.

Specifically we talk about Uric Acid and how high blood levels of it signal the body to make and store fat.

(Yes, you read that correctly: high Uric Acid levels TELL the body to store fat.)

In addition, high Uric Acid levels are also associated with heart disease, diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s and cancer.

NOT conditions you want!

So, what causes high Uric Acid levels?

The answer is simple:

Fructose.

Fructose is a form of sugar that, when consumed from the right source (fruit), can be very good for you.

However, when consumed from the wrong sources - table sugar and high fructose corn syrup (junk food) - can cause a ton of health problems.

Fortunately, there are simple ways to measure and monitor blood Uric Acid levels.

There are also simple ways to LOWER them through diet.

Give this episode a good listen to learn all you need to know about Uric Acid and how lowering it can dramatically improve your health.

Episode 22:10 – How The American Diet Got So Bad: An Interview With Coach Sam Shelton

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) sit down with our good friend Coach Sam Shelton to discuss how the American diet got so bad.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 22:10 How The American Diet Got So Bad: An Interview With Coach Sam Shelton

The last time Coach Sam Shelton was on the Get Healthy Alabama podcast (episode 21-42) he explained how nearly EVERY chronic disease could be traced back to a “metabolic dysfunction” in the body.

He also explained how this “metabolic dysfunction” was directly related to a person’s diet, particularly sugar intake, and that there were two tests everyone should ask their doctor to perform:

1) Insulin levels
2) Uric Acid levels

We discussed Insulin Levels with Coach on that episode and said we’d have him back to talk to us about the dangers of high Uric Acid levels.

Well, now he’s back.

Except we didn’t get to talk much about high Uric Acid levels.

(We’ll bring him back next week to do that)

Instead we talked about how we, as a society, got to this point.

That is, we discuss the reason WHY Uric Acid levels have skyrocketed in recent decades… leading to an epidemic of many chronic diseases.

Other topics we discuss include:

- How our food choices are killing us… but it’s not our fault

- Why people are always hungry

- How we are overfed… yet undernourished

- The connection between fructose and Uric Acid levels

- The obesity epidemic

- Why rationing food in the 1940's resulted in LESS disease

- The disastrous Food Pyramid

- Why fructose in fruit is okay

- The “process” behind processed food

Episode 22:7 – BetyLou’s Principles For Healthy Living

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) have a discussion about the health principles BetyLou incorporates into her daily life to stay healthy, strong and vibrant at 80 years young.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 22:7 BetyLou’s Principles For Healthy Living

If you’ve ever wanted to know THE secret to living a long and healthy life don’t ask BetyLou Pierce.

Why?

Because she’ll tell you that there is no ONE secret.

Instead, there are SEVERAL lifestyle choices that go into living a long and healthy life… choices that she, at age 80, continues to make each and every day.

Not surprisingly, these choices are holistic in nature as they involve her spirit, soul and body.

For example, BetyLou spends time each day in pray/meditation… she is constantly learning more about nutrition so she can better help her customers… and she exercises regularly while also following a strict vegan diet.

On this week's episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast BetyLou talks about all these things.

She also shares the health principles she follows on a daily basis including…

- The daily “cycles” that guide her nutritional choices

- The foods she eats to support her vegan/alkaline diet

- The reason why she takes a notebook outside

- Why she goes outside barefoot (even in the winter)

- The logic behind taking minerals in the evening

- The breathing routine she follows (before going to bed)

Give this episode a good listen as there is plenty of wisdom to be found in her words... wisdom that can help you live a happier, healthier life!
