Episode 21:30 - The Effect Of Vaccines On Your Body’s TWO Immune Systems

As you know, from listening to last week’s episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast, your body has TWO Immune Systems:

The Cell Mediated Immune System and The Humoral Immune System.

Working together, these two Immune Systems keep you healthy and safe from pathogens (bacteria and viruses).

This week's episode focuses on the impact that vaccines have on these two Immune Systems.

And, believe it or not, the answer is actually quite simple:

Vaccines SILENCE the Cell Mediated Immune System and ACTIVATE the Humoral Immune System.

It really is that easy.

Well, at least it SOUNDS easy.

The truth is this:

Understanding what it means to SILENCE the Cell Mediated Immune System and ACTIVATE the Humoral Immune System will take a little work.

But don’t worry… that’s what this episode is for.

In fact, by the time you’re done listening to this episode, you’re not only going to understand the effect vaccines have on your your TWO Immune Systems, you’re going to understand the effect they have on your overall health.

In addition, you will be truly informed when it comes to vaccines, allowing you to make educated decisions when it comes to whether or not you should get them.

One more thing:

Because this information is so important, there is a video that goes with it.

Get the video by visiting GetHealthyAlabama.com/21-30

Episode 21:29 – Understanding Your Body’s TWO Immune Systems

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) give an overview of one of the most important systems of your body… the Immune System!

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:29 - Understanding Your Body's TWO Immune Systems

It seems that EVERYONE has an opinion regarding the Covid vaccine.

That’s fine.

What’s troublesome is the lack of "reason" supporting their decision… whether “for” or “against” the vaccine.

For example, very, very few individuals can answer this one basic question:

“What effect does the vaccine have on the TWO Immune Systems of your body?”

Don’t feel bad if you can’t answer this question because, up to now, no one has taken the time to teach you the answer.

Not your doctor.

Not your nurse.

And certainly not any of the so-called “health experts” or government officials on TV.

Well, today that’s going to change.

On this week's episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast (available today!) we are going to PREPARE you to answer that question.

Yes, “prepare” you.

You see, before you can understand the effect a vaccine has on the TWO Immune Systems of your body, you first must know something about these TWO Immune Systems.

That's where this week's episode comes into play.

On this episode you’ll learn the primary role of each Immune System AND how they work together to keep you healthy and safe.

That will then "prepare" you to answer the question asked earlier:

“What effect does the vaccine have on the TWO Immune Systems of your body?”

This question, and its answer, will be the topic of next week’s episode.

For now, listen to this episode and share it with a friend.

It's really, really important that you "get" this.

In fact, this information is so important, that I included a short, five-minute video to go with it... a video you don't want to miss.

I also included a one-page chart you can print out that summarizes the functions of your TWO Immune Systems.

Check them out above and then share them with a friend.

Episode 21:28 – Whether You Believe It Or Not… You ARE A Bodybuilder – An Interview With Lane Jones

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) sit down with health and fitness expert Lane Jones to discussion how ANYONE can build the body of their dreams.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:28 - Believe It Or Not, You ARE A Bodybuilder - An Interview With Lane Jones

You may not realize it, but you ARE a bodybuilder.

Perhaps not a “competitive” one, but you ARE, everyday, “building your body.”

The type of body you are building is based upon the type of decisions you make.

That is, you’re either “building” a healthy body… or an unhealthy one.

This fascinating truth is one of the driving forces behind Lane Jones’ work as a competitive bodybuilder AND as the owner of Lane’s Rock Solid Fitness in Citronelle, Alabama.

Since the time he was 12 and went to see “Rocky”, Lane has been committed to building his body and his health through physical activity.

In the years that followed, Lane maintained his passion for working out while also acquiring a desire to follow in his parents footsteps by becoming a school teacher… a job he has done for the past thirty years.

About ten years ago, Lane decided to combine these two passions by opening his own gym… the aforementioned Lane’s Rock Solid Fitness.

In his gym, Lane teaches people how to workout safely and strategically so that they can “Get Healthy” while creating the body of their dreams.

Like any good teacher, Lane knows the value of learning. To that end, he has invested his time and resources in educating himself the best he can regarding exercise and nutrition.

However, unlike so many “health coaches” and “personal trainers”, Lane didn’t get his information solely from some on-line courses.

Instead, he went to THE BEST… as in a few of the BEST bodybuilders of all-time: Eight time Mr. Olympia Lee Haney, the legendary Frank Zane, and former Mr. World Steve Davis.

Picking the brains of these brilliant men has enabled Lane to become a better bodybuilder (at age 53!) AND a better trainer for his gym members.

On this episode, Lane shares some of his vast knowledge with us… and he does so with an engaging style, along with a voice that sounds just like Matthew McConaughey, lol.

If you want to build a better body this episode is for you!

Episode 21:27 – Words Of Wisdom From The Amazing BetyLou Pierce

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast co-host BetyLou Pierce shares wisdom she has gained in her 42 years of being Alabama’s premiere nutritionist.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:27 - Words Of Wisdom From The Amazing BetyLou Pierce

With over forty years experience as a nutritionist, BetyLou Pierce is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to natural health and healing.

On this episode she shares some of that knowledge with us.

Specifically, she covers four topics:

1) How the body can heal itself.
2) Why being healthy doesn’t mean you never get sick.
3) The power of listening to your body.
4) Supplements: WHAT to take and WHEN.

What’s most impressive about BetyLou is that, although she has worked and/or owned a health food store for over forty years, she refuses to treat every health problem with a supplement.

That is, instead of suggesting a supplement or two (or three or four) to her customers as a treatment, she first tries to talk to them about their diet.

About what may be CAUSING their problem.

How many health food stores do that?

Seriously.

If she wanted to, BetyLou could suggest bottle after bottle of supplements to her customers.

And they’d buy them!

However, she doesn’t believe in the “a pill for every ill” mindset… even if it is a vitamin or herb.

Instead, she believes that the human body can heal itself IF it receives the nutrition it needs from your diet.

Of course, supplements help… but only as a "supplement" to the improvements you make to your diet.

Give this episode a good listen as BetyLou goes deep into these topics and provides practical steps you can take to help your body heal itself.

And, when you're done, share this episode with a friend 🙂

Episode 21:25 – How Anedra Brown Lost 99 pounds: Diet, Exercise… and Dealing with Emotional Trauma

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) bring back Anedra Brown to discuss how a “roadblock” on her journey to better health helped her overcome a plateau in her weight loss efforts.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:25 - How Anedra Brown lost 99 pounds: Diet, Exercise… and Dealing with Emotional Trauma

Back at the beginning of this year (2021) we recorded an episode with Anedra Brown called “How To Lose 67 Pounds Without Even Trying.”

It was very well received.

Since that time, Anedra has continued to lose weight… still without trying.

To date, she has lost a total of 99 pounds.

Her secret?

She focuses solely on Getting Healthy!

That is, she does NOT try to lose weight. Instead, she focuses her efforts on Getting Healthy!

As a result, the healthier she gets, the more weight she loses.

This “program” has worked really well for her… until recently.

Seems like her health improvements, and weight loss, had stalled.

This puzzled Anedra as she knew she still had a long way to go on her health journey.

She also knew that she was doing everything right, such as:

Avoiding bad foods while eating healthy ones, taking whole-food supplements, exercising, and taking time each day to “SEE” herself healthy.

However, despite her best efforts, nothing seemed to help.

Her progress had come to a halt.

Then, one day, it hit her.

The weight she was at now was the same weight she was at in 2014.

Why is that significant?

Because in 2014 Anedra experienced an emotional trauma.

An emotional trauma that she responded to by putting on weight.

An emotional trauma that she had never fully dealt with.

An emotional trauma that wouldn’t let her continue on her path to better health.

Anedra realized all of this and decided to do something about it.

Specifically, she decided to DEAL with the emotional trauma she experienced seven years ago.

She did… and her body responded by dropping 9 pounds in two days!

Yes, nine pounds in two days... just by dealing with some unresolved emotional trauma.

Not only that, her health progress is no longer stalled.

And, she’s not done yet.

Learn more about Anedra and her story by giving this episode a good listen.

She talks about the emotional trauma and how she dealt with it.

Her story will teach you, inspire you… and give you some ideas on how to advance on your health journey.

Episode 21:24 – The “Eat Whatever You Want” Diet

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss how you can live a healthy life by following the “Eat Whatever You Want” diet.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:24 - The “Eat Whatever You Want” Diet

At first glance the title of this week’s episode sounds ridiculous.

After all, how can anyone recommend a “Eat Whatever You Want” diet?

It’s easy.

You see, unlike thousands of other books and podcasts about diet, the focus of the “Eat Whatever You Want” diet is NOT on what you eat.

The focus is on what you WANT.

Let me explain:

The co-host of this podcast, BetyLou Pierce, places a high value on being healthy.

Always has and always will.

For that reason, she follows a vegan diet that is free of sugar, processed foods and meat.

NOT because she has to… but because she WANTS to.

That is, she “Eats Whatever She WANTS.”

To be clear, what she wants is not necessarily what you may want… and that’s okay.

In fact, many people feel that BetyLou’s diet is strict and hard to follow.

However, to BetyLou it’s not.

Why?

Because she WANTS to look and feel good… and following a vegan diet helps her do that.

The message is simple:

Stop worrying about what you should and shouldn’t eat.

Instead, focus on what you WANT regarding your health.

That is, create a clear image regarding how you want to look, how you want to feel, and how you want to perform.

The more “real” those images are to you, and the stronger your desire to see them become a reality in your life, the easier it will become to follow a corresponding nutrition plan.

So…

Do you want to be healthier?

Give this episode a good listen and you will learn that the key to getting healthier is to focus less on what you eat… and more on what you WANT!

Episode 21:23 – How To Smash Limiting Beliefs

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss the very important topic of How To Smash Limiting Beliefs.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:23 - How To Smash Limiting Beliefs

On last week’s episode we talked about how your Behaviors create the Results you get in life...

And how your Behaviors are dictated by your Beliefs.

Specifically, we talked about how “Limiting Beliefs” are THE primary reason you aren’t achieving the success you desire in your life… be it in your Health, your Finances or your Relationships.

On today’s episode we talk about things you can do to SMASH those Limiting Beliefs.

Seven strategies that will help you eliminate Limiting Beliefs and replace them with Beliefs that are congruent with the success you desire.

You really don’t want to miss this episode… especially if you’re one of those people who does a great job at “getting started” towards a goal but then struggles “sticking to the plan.”

Or, if you do really well for a while, only to then do something that “sabotages” your efforts.

This is also a great episode for anyone interested in the Mind - Body connection.

Now that I think about it, this episode is really good for everyone.

There is, however, one precaution:

We reveal, in the first minute, a “technical difficulty” that could have really messed things up.

However, we have a “Belief” system that focuses on turning “failures” into “lessons”… which is what we did 🙂

Episode 21:22 – Why Most People Don’t Achieve Their Goals… And How To Correct It

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss the reason WHY most people don’t achieve their goals… and what can be done to correct it.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:22 - Why Most People Don’t Achieve Their Goals… And How To Correct It

On last week’s episode we shared ideas regarding “How To Have Your BEST Summer Ever.”

Specifically we suggested living WITH nature, instead of in opposition to it, during the 99 Days of Summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day.)

We also, in our daily emails, encouraged people to set goals for the summer:

1) Health Goals
2) Financial Goals
3) Relationship Goals

(Want to get our emails? Sign up for the “Symptom Survey” at GetHealthyAlabama.com)

Setting goals is powerful… and setting goals in each of the three areas mentioned above is a really good idea.

Unfortunately, studies show that the overwhelming majority of people do NOT achieve their goals.

The problem is NOT with the actual goals.

Nor is it with identifying the actions necessary to achieve those goals.

The real problem is that deep down we don’t BELIEVE that we deserve to achieve our goals.

Somewhere in our subconscious mind is a voice telling us that we’re not good enough to be successful.

As a result we sabotage our efforts.

On this episode we take a deep dive into WHY this happens.

WHY our subconscious mind holds us back from reaching our goals.

More importantly, we discuss HOW to change this.

Information you MUST know if you truly want to be successful.

Give this a good listen… and let this truly be your BEST summer ever.

Episode 21:21 – How To Have Your BEST Summer Ever

On this episode of the Get Healthy Alabama podcast we (Dr. George Burroughs and BetyLou Pierce) discuss things you can do to make this summer your BEST, and healthiest, ever.

(May take a few seconds to begin playing)

Episode 21:21 - How To Have Your BEST Summer Ever

We want you to have a wonderful summer… your best ever.

How?

By learning how to live WITH nature, not in opposition to it.

Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done.

You see, we have allowed society to dictate our behaviors… behaviors that go against nature and are NOT good for our health.

For example…

Why do we go to bed so late?

Because we have been trained to.

The truth is, if you live in the United States and have a daytime job, there is no reason to go to bed after 10 o’clock.

Likewise, there is no reason to wake up after six in the morning.

Yet few people get up before then… even though watching the sunrise each morning carries with it some amazing health benefits!

Then there’s our diets… another area in which we don’t live WITH nature.

We eat foods that are not part of God’s natural design.

Processed foods that we know aren't good for us… filled with sugar and chemicals.

We should know better.

We should do better.

These two areas alone - our relationship with the sun and with food - play a huge role in our health.

In fact, almost EVERY chronic disease is connected, in some way, to our inability to live WITH nature in these two areas.

Heart Disease, Cancer, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Obesity… the list goes on and on.

But that can change.

We can make up our minds to live WITH nature this summer.

To take these 99 days of summer to cultivate some incredible, healthy habits.

Here’s a few suggestions to get you started:

- Write one letter each week.
- Read one book a week.
- Eat some fruit every day.
- Eat vegetables every day.
- Cut out sugar, wheat, and gluten.
- Commit to taking whole food nutritional supplements.
- Wake up with the sunrise.
- Go to bed by 10 P.M.
- Keep your home dark after 8 P.M.
- Don’t eat after 7 P.M.
- Pray daily.
- Journal daily.
- Practice “Grounding” daily.
- Get a suntan (prepare for next winter).
- Watch the sunset.
- Eat from the colors of the rainbow daily.
- Go to the beach, the mountains, or hiking trails.
- Have fun. Smile. Enjoy life.
- Spend time with family and friends.

Here's the bottom line:

1) The key to good health is to live WITH nature, not in opposition to it.

2) Getting healthy is about progress, not perfection.

Make this your BEST summer ever!!!
